The Bakker Seed Productions team celebrating their Beemster Business of the Year award
Our Story

A family business since 1956

Four generations of the Bakker family, dedicated to producing the finest hybrid seeds in the Beemster polder.

The Beemster

Rooted in rich soil

The Beemster polder was reclaimed from Beemster Lake in 1612 and is one of the oldest polders in the Netherlands. Its exceptionally fertile clay soil has made it a prime location for agriculture for over four centuries.

It is in this historic landscape that the Bakker family has built their seed production company, growing from a small mixed horticultural operation to a modern 19,000+ m² greenhouse complex producing GSPP-certified hybrid seeds for the international market.
